Welcome to my little corner of the internet — Linux, self-hosting, gaming, and the occasional side project in Rust.
Ashell, nice panel
I’ve been using Ashell panel for some time now, and I really like it. The design is great right from the start — you have some templates to choose from or you can create your own. My Ashell installation was built from source (see installation guide), but you can also install it via AUR, Fedora Copr, or Nix OS. The best part of this bar is the ability to customize menus and much more. For example, Ashell is lightweight and fast, making it ideal for older hardware or users who want a snappy desktop experience. Its high level of customization allows users to tailor every aspect of the panel, from widgets to layouts, to fit their specific workflow. Supported by an active community, the project benefits from contributions such as themes, plugins, and tutorials, ensuring ongoing development and support. Although primarily focused on Linux, Ashell’s design principles seamlessly integrate with modern desktop environments, offering a consistent experience across platforms. The panel’s extensibility through plugins enables easy addition of features like weather forecasts, system monitoring, or calendar integrations, enhancing its functionality without compromising performance.
